Service Contents

Prevent Drug Abuse and Build Community Support for South Asians

Our Centre has obtained financial sponsorship from the <Beat Drugs Fund> to run a drug prevention project for South Asians. The project aims to help them understand the importance of staying healthy and drug free.

The project provides a series of free services by joining hands with the South Asian groups to bring out the messages of ‘Be high on life, not on drugs’ and ‘Be smart, help others say no to drugs’.

Scope of Services
Medical enquiries, experience sharing by rehabilitated drug users, health talks, mutual help groups, individual and family counselling, interest and development groups, outreaching service, translation and escort, employee retrainingprograms, etc.

Support Services

Supported financially by the <United Methodist Church Social Service Development Fund>, we hope to provide translation service to reduce the language barrier experienced by persons from South Asian minorities, increase their opportunity to use local services, help them understand their rights and responsibilities, improve their understanding of Hong Kong, as well as their sense of belonging and civic responsibility, thereby helping them to improve their quality of life in the city.

Scope of Services
Interpretation and translation service (including English, and languages from India, Nepal, Pakistan and Urdu), organize workshops to help local organizations to learn about the South Asian cultures, organize ‘I see’ groups to enable South Asian residents understand Hong Kong news and information, publish the quarterly I SEE magazine to enable South Asian residents to express their views and opinions.
